Let me introduce myself. My name is Karen Cantrell and when I'm not painting the walls of Le Nid, I'm often painting something else, or drawing it, or sculpting it. Over the years I've devoted most of my free time to drawing, pottery, etching, painting and recently, sculpture which I do for my own pleasure and on a commission basis. If you like what I do, I'm at your "commande".

For Special Occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, milestones: These are a couple of the many examples of boxes, which can be in any size, shape, colour, and covering everything from places one has lived, family members, special hobbies, pets, passions.
Birth BoxIt was a boy! He was born in Delft, so Vermeer's View of Delft is painted on the lid, along with his parents' portraits. The side of the box is decorated with Delft's blue motifs, in the case shown of a pelican, symbol of parental dedication. Around the edge "and the world resounds with the joyful cry...." I am!!!!!" |

80th Birth BoxRepresents the person in question's personal muses: Rembrandt, Shakespeare, Monteverdi, and related personages, with quotations from Shakespeare and John Dunn. Inside the box was a portrait on a tiny easle of the person's wife, in the guise of Shakespeare's Saskia and a portrait of the donor. |
